I am getting the message 'Reserved error (-3071); there is no message for this error.'
Q: What can I do?
A: This error comes from the Access database engine when printing for selected accession #s.
This error comes from the Microsoft Access database when too many Accession #s or ranges are specified during printing or previewing of reports.
The maximum number of selected accession #s or ranges (elements) in this field is 40.
Note: The problem is not the number of records selected but rather the number of comma-separated values entered into this field.
In other words, if you include ranges in your selected accessions, you may print MANY MORE than 40 records without a problem.
We have determined that you need to limit your elements to a maximum of 40 entries (each entry being a comma-separated value or a range).
For instance, the following list of values and ranges exceeds the limit by 1 element (41 elements):
6,108,143,149,155,156,161,177,246,326,328,337,370,375,392,453,556,590,629,868,888,894,913,1029,1065,1068,1073,1079-1080,1189,1198,1225,1227,1423,1427,1557,1559,1570,1580,1600,1602,1710
Corrected accession selection (only 40 elements):
6,108,143,149,155,156,161,177,246,326,328,337,370,375,392,453,556,590,629,868,888,894,913,1029,1065,1068,1073,1079-1080,1189,1198,1225,1227,1423,1427,1557,1559,1570,1580,1600,1602
We hope this helps explain the current situation in Library 1.7.
We are working on a new user interface to replace and enhance many things in CROSS Library including resolving this as part of those enhancements.
